The Office for Intercultural Engagement and Leadership sponsors various different student groups that focus on the importance of belonging. Affinity groups are created for people to connect based on shared identities, ideologies, or interests. Group membership is open to every student on the University of Nebraska at Kearney campus. No eligible university student may be denied membership to any student affinity group based on race, color, ethnicity, national origin, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, disability, age, genetic information, veteran status, marital status, and/or political affiliation.
If you would like to join any of the groups that IEL sponsors feel free to attend any of their general meetings at the listed times. The office is located on the first floor of the Nebraskan Student Union, near the east side entrance.

Hispanic Student Association meets every Wednesday at the student union in the Office for Intercultural Engagement and Leadership at 5:00 PM. Every week we like to learn about cultures within the Hispanic community to better promote the Hispanic culture around bet36365体育. Hispanic Student Association is open to students of all backgrounds and provides a safe place to make some long lasting relationships. Pretty soon it will feel like home away from home. Whether you want to learn more about Hispanic cultures or just de-stress, we look forward to seeing you at HSA.”

United In Dance’s mission is to showcase the music and folkloric dances of different Latin American countries in order to rouse awareness of the artistic beauty and interconnectedness of Latino folklore. Their goal is to educate about Latin American culture through the “lens” of the performing arts.
